The demand for 3D printers is evident as it advances within the medical market in India. While industry representatives are assertive that there exists a change, progress is still slow and steady within the medical automation sector. Rohil G. Mehta, Sarto Electro Equipments believes that the industry will take its time to progress. He said: “We are the distributors of Envision Tech – a company based in Germany that makes 3D printers.”

Elaborating, he said: “Our printers aid the manufacturing of hearing aids, while also helping the doctor during a dental procedure.”   He said: “Presently, the demand for 3D printers and other 3D imaging solutions is still in its nascent stage.” On the other hand, he said: “The same technology is already present in the UK, in Europe and even in the USA.” However, he believes that it’s just a matter of time before the Indian manufacturer goes completely digital by automating solutions. “As a distributor, we have realised that India is a cost-sensitive market and this can make things a little difficult, especially if you are looking for quality,” he added. While quality is something that involves cost, he said that the overall, 3D Printing technology has great potential.
